However as there may be a difference in width between sunroofs of W108 and W123, I assume that the only thing for me to do is to adjust the length of the "arms". What do you think? If so, could you give the website or emaill address of the salvage yards who have the W123 manual sunroof mechanism, please. Thanks Bruce,

Hey Gator, I swapped the 85 300D to the Kennedy Manual upgrade a few yrs ago. Never could get the back of the lid to pop up and close right.

I pulled an entire Sun Roof assy from a 85 300TD last summer thinking that would be the way to go and have my manual SR. Then one of the guys in NC mentioned that the TD roof was flatter than the Sedan. so does that mean the pan assy is different, or they are the same and the lids are a different curvature?

I have a couple spare sedan lids that I have been going to compare to the TD assy.

Plus if I swap in this Manual assy, I can clean it up, POR the whole thing, and that should make it survive another 30 years.

I totally did the manual sunroof conversion on my 1980 W116 300SD. My Custom 1980 W116 300SD Project

I took the tray from a W123 300TD and cut off some parts and pasted them onto my W116's tray.

It worked great for a while until the forward sliders deteriorated. Now I have to pull down the wind deflector so it doesn't get pinched when closing the roof. I have also converted the windows and climate control to manual. Simple is good.
