This might be your pet peeve
As you all know many of us have been having some problems with our heater motor. This is what I have found being my problem. For a good while now Ive been wondering why my heater motor would stop and re start all be it being intermittently, but a pain in the #@**&.
As you can see in the first picture this is where my problem was.The wiring harness on the right side of the control unit. The far right lower wire(female) would not hold to the pin(male) on the heater unit when it would be pushed in all the way.So what i was able to do is pull that wire out and apply a little pressure to the female wire with long nose pliers. (Be very careful when taking that wire out or any wire for that matter they are not held in there position very tightly)And the next thing i did was put a tie wrap around the unit making sure i would capture both harnesses pulled tight and the heater control never worked better.I don't think the cap covering the harness connector holds the wires in place very adequately but from what i can see now its a good fix. Now don't get me wrong here I'm not saying we all have the same problem, but this was my headache. Hope this little story helps a little. Best to all Dan Vancouver Canada

Nice find. What model do you have? 240D manual or 300D auto climate control?

You are missing the outside cover of that connector, and that is what helps hold the pins in place.

for newbies, they should disconnect the battery when playing with needle nose pliers because you dont want to fry anything....
