It is very tempting.....

It would need hood, radiator...fan, lights...is that all thats damaged? Is the support rail along the front messed up?

Also, is it a manual or auto....and is it the 2.2 4cyl...or the 2.5 5 cyl engine?

It's an 2.2 4 banger with a Auto Tranny.the front rail appears to be fine. I'm pretty sure the rad and cooling fans will need to be replaced.

I just sent an e-mail off to someone that I know that does it. Will see what they say.

I'm guessing you could put the whole thing back together for around $1500 to $2000, depending on the quality of the paint job, so you would be into it for about $2500 to $3000 total.

I came up with:

Car: $450
Shipping: ~$700
Hood: $170 shipped from ebay
Grille: $60 on ebay
Light assemblies $175 on ebay
Radiator: $225 shipped -ebay
Fan: $100ish?
Paint: myself, with matched OEM paint - $75

So around $1955 total....still a bit steep.

I think I will have to pass on this one.

About what I was thinking except for the DIY paint, I figured about $1000 to have a body shop do a "OK" job on just the hood.

190d's are ultra rare around here. I think I've seen 3 in my entire life. When I was in florida for 6 days I think I saw half a dozen diesel MB's.....and many in georgia too....very few up here in MI though.

For a hood I'd probably just have to buy/paint a new one.

You may have a better chance of finding a 190E, but the odds of finding a hood with good paint in the correct color are probably pretty slim.

Exclamation Our 84 190e looks just the same after it hit an SUV.

I'm going to try to fix it. We got the radiator and fan replaced, pulled out the crunched sheet metal and are looking for a hood, fender, and grille. We are in the Chicago burbs. Went to Certifit today in Addison, IL and they have a hood and fender for an 84 E-series. But not for a 190 baby Benz. I love this car! I can fix the fender but the hood looks just like yours.
