Good to be back, plus, SLS valve rebuild

Hi,

Just wanted to say, its good to be back. I've been driving and ignoring my 300TD for months. Now that the weather is good, I've been paying attention to it again. I got a good job out in Boulder, CO, so will be taking it on a long trip to move out, and am getting things in order, changing oil, etc. I'm considering buying a Prius too, and so all my friends are asking if the BioBenz is for sale. But it's not, and they'll just have to get used to that.

I wanted to share a picture. I just installed a set of chrome fender lips. Cheesy, I know. I'm doing it for the same reason everyone does, there is some fender lip damage that I can't afford to repair. I sanded the damaged area, primed it, top coated with some cheap lacquer to prevent rust, and then put the chrome over to hide it...

It won't fool Mercedes people, but it impresses the neighbors, so whatever.

I will probably be painting it in a few months, and getting some body work done at the same time. Can anyone recommend a good body shop in or around Boulder, CO? I don't want a cheap Maaco style job, but I can't afford a full tear the car to the frame and sand it with a toothbrush job. Hoping to pay 1000$-1500$, and planning on doing most of the trim removal/installation myself. Just want a good person to do the minor body work and do a quality paint job in the same color (Astral Silver).

One last disjointed question. I need to rebuild the suspension valve. The dealer wants 120$ for the rebuild kit! I thought it was around 70$...

It needs to be rebuilt no matter what (suspension works fine, but settles down after car is off for a few minutes), but I'd rather not pay 120$ for a few washers... If anyone has done this job recently, can you recommend a source for this rebuild kit??

Thanks for the help everyone has given over the years, and the help you'll give me in the future.

Peace,
Sam

Can you provide the p/n for the kit? its possible I can get a better price,
besides I have a SLS valve that is of unknown operational status, it is from a low mileage wagon but before going to the trouble of installing it in my wagon with the leaking valve in it, I would like to replace the internal seals. Hence my search for the terms SLS and KIT brought me here!

If we had a kit we can also measure the O-rings and buy them in bulk if thats all that wears out, but for $120 it might have some MB special parts or something that is unique to this valve assy.
