Apology to those I have offended. From RichC

.
Hello Everyone :(

I am actually ashamed of some of my behavior on this forum.
And I wanted to make a public apology to anyone I may have offended.

And specifically to people I was quite rude to in a post about vegetable oil.

I thought it was ok to give you a hard time.
I thought this would cause a flame war in my post and make it more popular.
And bring more attention to the ideas in the post.
But doing so at your expense was wrong.

I screwed up.
And I would like to make amends.
I have learned a lesson today.

Not to use people for my own selfish reasons, no matter how justified I think I am.

My apologies to you all
Thank You
RichC

Even though I thought you were acting stupid, as a person looking into running bio and eventually SVO, I am genuinely interested in the thread you started. It is a shame those kind of threads somehow always deteriorate into fanatacism and defensiveness (on both sides) before they really get going to anything worthwhile.

I'd be interested in revisiting the topic sometime if everyone can behave.

JimmyL 04-19-2007 01:05 AM

I don't really read the veg oil posts Rich, so we were still good anyway. :D
I do however appreciate somebody who will self reflect, and then deal with the situation.
Good luck!
You could probably make it up to local folks with some of that barbecue you mentioned one time......:D

For a real, serious VO talk, this forum just isn't the place :(

For the record, I'm not familiar with the thread that you are apologizing for and I love this forum a lot :D

Craig 04-19-2007 01:18 AM

It was big of you to post this. Don't lose any sleep over it, I think we're all good.

Craig

diametricalbenz 04-19-2007 02:23 AM

What happened? VO discussion get out of control?

winmutt 04-19-2007 02:29 AM

How dare you talk about my mother like that.

Where am I?

Shorebilly 04-19-2007 05:14 AM

Huh????

No big deal......but I musta missed it as well......thanx for the apology anyhow!!

Whiskeydan 04-19-2007 10:08 AM

Bbq???

bodyart27 04-19-2007 10:12 AM

Bbq?

I've noticed quite a few Dallas folks (and met a bunch of great guys at the Diesel GTGs over the past year). I'd love to host one some time soon if I can ever get the house work caught up.... where does the time go! (OK, hanging out endlessly on the forum doesn't help)

JimmyL 04-19-2007 10:18 AM

Hijack warning....

My wife is often nice enough to point that out!
I'm very much IN for a local GTG, and I bet I don't eat as much as Dan....:D Would be nice to have the Cow Town folks also.....

Back to topic, Rich, I think you can see that nobody was really sweating anything.....:)

GRIESL 04-19-2007 10:36 AM

Not nearly as offensive as the guy complaining of his wife's boobs jiggling around 'cause his car doesn't idle smoothly. Oh, the humanity! Just kidding--we all asked for video evidence. I thought the cup of you know what comment was funny, but it was a flame. Good of you to apologize.

arcticathlon 04-19-2007 11:06 AM

we are all sometimes frustrated over something someone says. as long as we forgive each other and constructive comments continue, all will be well.

Whiskeydan 04-19-2007 11:07 AM

I'm up for a NTX gathering. Happy to offer my place.

Dee8go 04-19-2007 11:11 AM

Well, Rich, it's not like you called anybody a "nappy-headed ho," so no harm done.

jwhughes3 04-19-2007 12:11 PM

thanks even though I wasn't offended

because I missed the whole thing! Too many posts to see them all - I got sidetracked with the shaking engine thread :)

Your honesty and thoughtfulness is appreciated.

John

Once you finally "find" Dan's place, it is near perfect for a GTG. Would be as enjoyable as Randy's place {the place all future GTG's will be measured by}, and the "herds" are about the same size..... :D

dkveuro 04-19-2007 12:32 PM

None taken.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

BBQ, yeaaaaaa!

Hello Everyone.

I had mention before, trying to get a North Texas GTG going, and had offered up my place.

But I think Dan's Place would be better.
It is really nice.
He has some really cool stuff there, but I don't want to give away any secrets. :)

I would bring the dead animal, and try to cook it, as penance for my earlier misdeeds.

***___***___***___***___***___***___***
Any time but June 9th thru the 17th
Me an Tracy are getting married in my backyard that day!!!!!
Dan, Jimmy, and other local members are quite welcome.
I was gonna officially invite you guys soon as we had things settled.

What kind of dead animal would you like?
Pig, Goat, Cow?
I have a nice pile of roadkill?

Thank You
Still not right after all these pills !!

Might be more of a German car GTG with all the MBs, Porsches and VWs.

Lets pick a date!

deerefanatic 04-19-2007 08:58 PM

Good to see someone big enought to admit they're wrong... As my Dad would say, makes you a really big man.........

H-townbenzoboy 04-19-2007 10:27 PM

You know you NTX guys, since we're talking about meets, I would like to have another one of those statewide meets in Centerville again sometime this summer. I will start looking into planning it soon, since the spring semester is drawing to a close, and I'll have a little more free time. It'll be held sometime in June or July if everything goes according to plan.

t walgamuth 04-19-2007 10:31 PM

i missed it too.

but thanks for the apology.

we all need to do that from time to time.

MTUpower 04-19-2007 11:02 PM

Whiskeydan 04-20-2007 11:33 PM

Meat

Informal GTG at Coyote Ridge Ranch, in north Texas, is in the works.

Date, TBA, will be mid May.

Food, camping, music, bonfire, perhaps a winery tour of Grayson Hills Winery(half mile up the road), parts cars to pick over...

There's a couple of very nice B&Bs nearby for those who need lodging.

WINGAS 04-21-2007 12:04 AM

Yeah, you seem more stand up than that. Good show!

Ara T. 04-21-2007 06:52 AM

No problem, just as long as you never say my mother is a hamster and my father smells of elderberries, again.
