the reason they cost so much is because they are steel keys so that they dont break off in the tumbler like many brass keys do. also i belive the key is made of steel so that the internals of the ignition are to wear at the same rate of the key.

According to my EPC the PN should be 1264600604 and their price is $49.92, if so, then your dealer ripped you off.
checked out the Duval site...says cannot order keys over the internet and key prices are wrong...

also that part number is for a 300 series, 1990-1995

Mine was a 1984 190...you would think the tumblers are the same...I guess the early 80's was a transitional period...I might have the less common and soon discontinued lazer type keys...

Still...$140 is $140 and still sux...

They all come complete with a key, they come as a set. Just out of curiousity what was the PN they sold you?

I've found there to be a very wide variance on prices on parts from dealers. I do find that Duval consistently beats my dealers best prices (even after MBCA discounts) by at least 25%. More than covers shipping which is usually 10%. It's always worth a call to them or drop Steve Foster an email, he is very responsive and will usually respond to inquiries within a few hours.

my 82 SD should have the same type key as your 190D, the thick steel key with the laser cut notches in the face of the key?
dealer price for tumbler with a key, was 65.00 and I also got an extra square and round key for 23.00 each.
