Simple rear end question.

Did all of the 240D's come out with the same gear ratio in the rearends? Just curious.
thanks,
Jim

gear ratios

-But if your 240 has too much power for you you can gear it up with a 3.07.

I'm going to try the 3.46 first.

3.46 in the rear of the manual 240.. but forced you should be going to the 3.07 with your 617.95.. $.02

We'll see. I think the 3.07 would lead to slow takeoffs and lots of clutch slipping. Remember, this is a city car.

you must be due for a performance clutch. still like the 2.47/auto around town just the same.

Highway RPMs would be nice, but starting would be like trying to takeoff in 3rd gear.

i recommend the 346 with the 300 motor, not the 240 motor . i did a stick 300d conversion on a 240 with 307 rear end and it was too high. kindof like taking off in second all the time.
