Well, my W116 300 SD was the victim of a Labor Day hit and run tonight. My car is rusty, but just about to be restored. It has NO dents at all, until now. I went down to the corner to a party, and when I got back, someone had crushed in the drivers front-side bumper. The left side marker was destroyed and laying in the street. The left skinny side bumper was smashed against the fender, and the fender is recessed behind it about 2 inches.
I know my car is rusty, but it's so hard to see a beautiful piece of metal crushed. My fender was the best part of the car too. No rust, and such beautiful lines.
The worst part is, I know someone I probably know did it, and they figured that since I would be restoring it soon myself it would not matter. It was a bummer.
