vacuum line

Hello members.Just took possession of a rust free 82 300D with 240k.I don't have a manual yet but have bled the brakes, changed oil and replaced the motor mounts, etc. The ac blows hot air,but I havn't taken a good look at that issue yet.For now my main concern is that if I accelerate at a reasonable pace the tranny seems to shift into 3rd from second very quickly. If I get on it the shift is spaced out.I have done some searching on various forums about the vacuum issues but decided to post here.I was doing some snooping around on the car and pulled the panel off below the stearing wheel. There is a black vac line that isn't connected to anything under the dash and I don't see anything to where it could terminate to.I traced the other end thru the firewall to a y that goes into a control valve on top of the IP next to the oil filter housing.Where dose this black line go to under the dash and could it have somthing to do with the tranny shifting or the ac.Thanks

IIRC, quick shifting is due to a bad vac valve on the valve cover.
try blocking off the vacuum line going to the valve.
