Strictly Mercedes in Seattle

Does anyone have experience with Strictly Mercedes in Seattle? Here is their address: 1409 NE 80th St, Seattle, WA 98115, (206) 524-0122.

I need to have a ball joint replaced, but more importantly am looking for a good mechanic in Seattle. I have read that Automeister is the way to go, but Issaquah is a little too far away.

Any advice is appreciated!

Does your car really only have 79K miles on her?

I just had ball joints replaced on my '83
Local alignment shop has the tools that are necessary to install them.
I bought the parts and carried them in. They suggested replacing the lower bushings also and at $30 ea that was doen, car steers like a dream now, very responsive and tracks straight down the road.

There's no reason to use an MB shop for this if you have a good (emphasize GOOD) tire and chassis shop that does alignments. I would stay as far away from Sears as possible

I've gone there several times with my 240D and SDL's in the past and they seem pretty straight. Heard some good and some bad about Automeister. You could also give Benz Friendz in South Seattle a call, not sure if they do that but I've heard they're ok too.

I just got back from an alignment at Sears. Not as expensive as the dealer, but they did not have pastries. Also did not insistist on new tie rods as necessary to align. Six months or 6000 mile warranty. We'll see how it goes.

Thank

Thanks for the help. I've searched some other forums and read some good things about Strictly Mercedes, so I'll take my car there.

Unfortunately my sig line is a little old. She has 80k on her now.

Thumbs Up

Had a right ball joint replaced by Strictly Mercedes. The Mechanic was helpful and informative, the owner was friendly, and the receptionist was courteous. The work was done on time and was under the estimate (which was cheaper than 3 other indipendent shops in the area).

I think I'll be going back.

Fretglider, I was the guy who was coming down from Everett area that Sunday that you bought your 300D. I got a 190D instead

I will be checking out Strictly Mercedes to get a belt tensioner issue resolved thanks to you relating your experience.

Rob at Benzfriendz told me that he didn't work on "newer" (than 1982) cars any more. Plus he is backed up for months!

Weird 82-85 are essentially the same, wonder why he won't work on the last three years of the same car.

Anyway, bluebird chock up another for Abe at MBMW, that guy is great, always very helpful and prices are great as long as you're willing to put in work youself, you'll save a TON.

Thumbs up as well

Went to Stricly Mercedes Benz on 80th in Seattle for major service. Their work was thourough and first rate. They did not hesitated to get into the climate control and replaced one of the valves. The prices seemed fair.

On a second visit they diagnosed an engine electrical warning light as a loose gas cap, which was the least expensive outcome possible and took care of a broken widow regulator.

All in all, I am satisfied.
