Find somebody with small hands to remove the back plate on the injection pump. It's a tight fit between the oil filter housing and the IP.

djborya- have you intercooled or do you at least have a pyrometer. If you are not monitoring your exhaust temps you run a real risk of engine meltdown!

re adjustment..\

I did it when i had the cylinder head off the motor... I don't care about the egt's i watch my coolant temp.If i run it real hard it just starts getting hot so i know to let offf. And i have a few 617 spares.. So no worries if it goes boom, it only takes me 3 hours to swap motors in these cars..I am getting ready to open the pump back up and do some more "adjusting"soon and I am going to a huge holset turbo from one of the excavators i work on...Intercooler of course,Large exaust from turbo-on (3'5 inch)And then i probably will install the exhaust temp gauge. Simply because i am going to "max out"the existing ip adjustments...
