Family picture: 1992 W124 + 1998 W210
So here is the latest family member to join: A 1998, E300 Turbodiesel with 160000km. Bought from original owner, maintained by the dealer all its life (confirmed by a visit in person at the dealer), I have absolutely all maintenance history. Driven in our bad canadian winter for only the first 2 winters, after that the retired previous owner stored it during the winter months while he was driving his motor home to Mexico with a Saturn towed behind.
I really like driving this car and it has plenty of power for my needs. I am quite impressed by the reduced turbo lag and continuous power through upshifts. I have obtained very good informations on this forum while recently working on my 1992 W124 and I will certainly keep reading and posting when necessary about this new (for me it is new indeed!) W210. It will likely end up on the jack stands this week-end and I will give her a thourough look at all safety points: breaks, steering, suspension (especially those spring perches), etc.... Besides that, I have a rear left window which is not functionnal. I will investigate. Many thanks to all who supported me so far and I will try to help out as soon as I have a better knowledge about these cars. Bye,

Lucky bugger. How much did you pay?? I can't even find on for sale in Canada. And I can't seem to bring one in from the US.

I paid 16981$ Can + Steven Harper + Jean Charest, so 19350$ total.
I have been looking out for one like this for about 1 yr. Be patient. I got my luck by looking at Kijiji Montreal. A few of them are for sale in the GTA, but I don't trust these dealers. Your best bet is really with an original owner. I got a good hint from a salesman in a dealership once, but didn't agree on price with owner. Best of luck, Bye

Congrats on the addition! I added a nearly-identical car to my stable about a month ago -- '98 E300 Turbodiesel sedan with 172k miles. It now has nearly 175k, all my miles on B100. Sooner or later I'll get around to that WVO conversion, but no time or budget for that at the second.
Photo attached. Good luck with your new car! Cheers, John PS -- Want to swap wheels? These came with mine and I'd rather have the boring old stockers! |

TMAllison -- mine are 18". I believe the rubber is 235/40/18, but would have to double-check the sidewall to be sure. That's two flights of stairs down, and it's nearly my bedtime, so it's not gonna happen right now. The current running equipment all came from the prior owner.
Cheers, John |
