Question 300SD Question ?

My 85 sd has a funny vibration At 1000 rpm the car resonates under load ! almost as if the exhaust pipe hits the frame at that point,There is also a vibration when driving and turning while going up and or down a hill w/ my foot on the gas ! 30 to 90 mph the car runs great ! I just wanted to see if anybody had a similar issue ! Thanks in advance , Jeff

resonate at 1000RPM??? Sounds like a drive line issue,,, since this happens under load,,, also other symptoms indicate drive line,,,

1000rpm is lugging the engine. Except for initial acceleration, the engine should stay above 1500rpm to prevent lugging as it's very stressful on the engine.

have you checked the exhaust hangers? the little rubber donuts? mine also does this. especially when turning left... it is far from the only noise the car makes though, and I don't have time to tackle it now. but I am sure it's the pipes wandering around. try new donuts and report back.

NO WAY!!! the 69 is too wide and it has no personality in the front!
the 67 has the center gas cap, and the rocker panel trim and those fabulous curves! plus the nice wing windows.
