Any High Mileage w201 diesels out their?

You hear about the 123s getting in historical figures for mileage on a car with original unrebuilt engines ,how about the 190d 4 or 5 bangers? I own an 84 2.2 with over 230k ,and my 88 2.5 is on 286k and still going strong .Any records of long life lived with these diesels?

My daily driver ('84) is pushing 360K, bought it with just under 200, doubt any serious engine work had been performed prior to that. I have just performed regular maintenance and it chugs right along, day in and day out, a thousand miles or so a week.

These cars don't get much attention but I think they are the ultimate for basic transportation. Excellent mileage, well handling and safe. Easy to obtain over 40mpg on highway and I get a consistent 33-35 depending on type of diesel in town. I like the looks, but I know many dislike the appearance of the car.

I'd love a W201, one of the best looking sedans MB ever made.

I have an 87 2.5 turbo with 290,000 kms; I think that means less than 200k miles....so I hope to get lots more life out of it.

1985 2.2 diesel with 5-spd. Mine has 565K miles but I bought at an estate auction several years ago and I have no records on maintenance. I suspect the engine has had some work done in years past, only because the paint is slightly chipped where the eyelets would get attached to a cherrypicker for R & R.

They are out there. If an auto tranny, close to 200k seems to be auto-tranny lifespan.
