short 8mm socket for fan clutch

1995 e300d 185,000. Fan spins like a bicycle wheel when I shut down and the engine is hot. Ordered the replacement Behr fan clutch and the tool to hold the pully. I do not know where to find the short 8mm socket suggested in another post. I checked Sears.com but didn't find it. That doesn't mean my local Sears doesn't carry it. Besides, my local Sears is 20 miles away. Anyone know where I can buy one online? Anyone want to sell me one? I'm going out of town tomorrow and won't be back until Monday. My plan is to get this done on Monday.

Cut a std bit down, or cut a hunk off and use a wrench to turn it.

Doesnt get any shorter than that.

*edit* - just re-read this and see you are looking for a socket. Was remembering my 606.962 which has hex cap bolts holding the fan to the clutch.

Try here:http://www.peachparts.com/diy/mb_tools/mb_tools.php

The tool you're looking for is on page 25.

It is a "socket" but has a hex head on it and is much shorter than a regular hex head socket.

Any dealer will do, too. I got mine at my local dealer.

Bought one from Phil. Look for it in the tool rental space next week. Thanks.
