My primary filter turned blackish......my guess is alge. What do you recommend to remove it from the tank?

Did this happen all of a sudden or gradually? I would first just change the filters and see what happens. Use the clear inline filter so you can see whats in the filter. If it clogs up really fast again, you may have some biological residents in your tank.

BTW have you been running biodiesel at all. If you have this is normal. Biodiesel cleans out the fuel system, and it all ends up in your filters.

You could have gotten a bad batch of fuel. It might not be biodiesel related since we don't know the condition of the tank. You could dump B100 in my tanks right now and it won't loosen anything since they are clean. I'd be hesitant about blaming biodiesel for it. I filled up my gas car at a busy station. Tank was practically empty so all the fuel was from the station. Car ran like crap. Dumped gas dry in it and it was ok. Moral of the story is that bad gas can happen anywheres.

When did you last change the filters?

if in doubt use biocide on the tank...available at farm truck and marine supplies.

it will kill bacteria which will clog your filters and make it so it will run through your filters and burn.
