Increase In Algae Threads Lately

I could be way out in left field but it seems like there have been a lot more threads on algae problems since the low sulfur diesel hit the market. I know that sulfur in medication reduces bacteria or something like that in humans. Are there any Diesel Doctors out there that would know anything about it. Or am I just out in left field with my idea. WHAT DO YOU THINK ? RAY M

You could be right. Dont know. Get some Killem. How do you know you have algae? At least with my WVO tank I can look inside with a flash light.

the anti bug drug is sulfa not sulfur

and it works on folic acid something the sulfur does not do
so NO

FROM WIKI
''Sulfonamides are structural analogs and competitive antagonists of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA). They inhibit normal bacterial utilization of PABA for the synthesis of folic acid, an important metabolite in DNA synthesis.[1] The effects seen are usually bacteriostatic in nature. Folic acid is not synthesized in humans, but is instead a dietary requirement. This allows for the selective toxicity to bacterial cells (or any cell dependent on synthesizing folic acid) over human cells. Bacterial resistance to sulfamethoxazole are caused by mutations in the folic acid enzyme that prevents the drug from binding and blocking folic acid synthesis''
