Im in the process of changing the power steering fluid in my 89 300e and have removed most of the fluid with a turkey baster. I also purchased a power steering filter but do not know how to take the old one out...How do I remove the spring?
Thanks, Sam

Power Steering Fluid Change - 98 E300TD
It seems easy enough to change the fluid but I have a rectangular black plastic reservoir. When the lid is removed there is a white cover with a small hole in it for the dip stick. I don't know if there is a filter inside and if there is, I don't understand how I'll get to it. A filter is listed for the car but how do I remove and install?

I've written the proper procedure and materials AT LENGTH in dozens of threads as have others. The subject has been beat to death. How about SEARCHING "power steering flush?"
If you do print all the threads, make sure you go buy a box of printer paper first because you'll need it. Larry |
