Vacuum switch central locking

How do you troubleshoot the vacuum switch in the drivers door? I took out the switch and applied vacuum to the middle tee. I didnt get any vacuum. Do I need to get a new switch?

I do not know how to test it. All it does is direct vacuum to the locking or unlocking segments based on it's position.

I bet it leaks, most original ones do.
www.dieselgiant.com has a nice pictorial on how to replace them. I think he shows how to test it too.

There was no test procedure on DGs site. The lock and unlock lines both hold vacuum. So Im guessing that if I pull vacuum on the middle tee and switch between lock and unlock...

Here's a DIY Vacuum Troubleshooting Guide I wrote up on another forum. The door lock section starts on Post #5.

The driver's door has an electric switch no vaccum line to it. Biodiesel has a good write up there that will help you out.

No electrics in my door system. Just checked the vacuum switch in the drivers door. It held vacuum in both lock and unlock position. Applied vacuum on the middle T and in the firewall(solid yellow line), it held vacuum as well. It lost vacuum while switching from lock to unlock and vise versa but thats normal right?

That sounds correct, when it's in the lock position the unlock circuit is vented through the 3-way valve in the divers door (and visa-versa).
