Guten tag from Hamburg

Hey guys,

Just wanted to say hello. I am here at an internet cafe in Hamburg, lots of cool Mercedes everywhere. Just figured I'd say hello, and I will see all of you at the meet on June 9. Damn German keyboard has the Y at the bottom.

Perfect time of the year for a visit to Germany. What brings you over there?

Don't you hate those European keyboards. When I was in France, I'd type out long e-mails without looking at them and they'd end up being nonsense because I couldn't reconfigure my mental connections to match the keyboard.
What are you doing and where have you been?

Hey Brian,

the question should be: What do you bring to the US?

Whats up guys.

I visited a Mercedes parts place, and the European W114 or W115 headlights can be had in good shape for less than 150 USD. I haven't checked prices for W123, but I'd assume cheaper.

I am here with two students and meine Deutsche Professor. I quickly learned how bad my German was compared to the people here. I traveled around the U Bahn for hours trying to find the Benz parts place, and my ganz schlecht deutsch helped me communuicate enought with the locals to find where Normannenweg was. Other than that, we visited Lufthansa Technik today, and saw how the Germans overhaul all the planes. Lets just say the new Airbus is VERY big, and the German technicians are very thorough. They didn't have my map pockets, but I need to check a few more places. Also if you guys have any idea how to install the European W115 lights, it'd give me a good reason to buy.

The Reeperbahn(red light, club, and bar) district is nice, but the weather has been rainy today. So far Hamburg has been great, and I am slowly improving my German. I'd take parts requests but I have enough from home town friends and my own stuff already. This trip is basically a study tour, checking out the HAW (university) and the professors have been flipping the bill for my meals. Anyway, I'll keep you updated.

Auf wiedershen,
Kyle

Thumbs up Good for you.....

I have spent a bit of time in Northern Germany......although the Rieperbahn is a very interesting place to visit .......there are quite a few excellent museums in the area......and a couple of Diesel Engine manufacturers......

The German Nite Club scene is also worth mentioning....

SB

Note: I hope that you get to stay over there until around July/August .....weather gets too hot for the Germans, and the secretaries like to sun themselves topless in the parks during lunch hour.....

Whats up guys,

It was a good night on the Reeperbahn. I went to Grosse Freiheit, and there were many clubs there, met a lot of cool people. I can't believe the clubs stay open all night, and its 4PM here now...I got back to my room at 7AM! They never close down.

The food is pretty good too...this Turkish thing is real popular..."Doner" Its like some sort of chicken/beef thing with spices. Real good. Also been sampling a lot of the different beers...Becks with Lemon...weird...but good

Anyway see you guys later, internet is running out.
