617 specs.

can anyone tell me where to find the weight of a 617 engine and if they have automatic mixture adjustment?

Can't help with weight, other than heavy- sorry. Could you clarify auto mix adjust?

Meexin'? We don't need no steenkin' meexin'. It's deeezil.

The mixture is manually controlled by your right foot. :D

Somewhere online there was a website that had weights of many different engines. I failed to mark it. Sorry.
You might google thru a bunch of sites and find something.

What's the 617 going in?

mixture control so it can be leaned at altitude. also the what is the horse power I've read 120 and 170.

I believe the ALDA does this so, I gues it does have an "auto mixture adjust".
Try the search feature above. Search for 'alda', '617 hp'... lots of good info.

617 n/a=80bhp, 617 turbo=125bhp. Alda does the mixing according to load and atmoshperic pressure.

I believe a turbocharged 617 is a little over 120 hp. Not sure about the naturally aspirated, but obviously it's a lot lower.

As far as altitude goes, I am not sure about the 617, but on the 603 that is controled by the EDS. I wouldn't call it control of the "mixture," because it's not really about a mixture so much as the amount of fuel injected. It can always take as much air as it wants ... that isn't controled. So it's just fuel control, really. The 603 has an altitude sensor that will adjust idle speed accordingly.

Maybe in Stuttgart's test cell. In the real world, on a chassis dyno, my turbo 617 only makes about 80BHP at 650ft MSL, 88°F, 48%RH.
