running hose fm Engine bay to trunk
I want to run a 3/4" o.d. hose from the engine bay driver's side into the passger compartment then to the trunk on my 300D. Are there existing holes in the firewall that are unused that are covered up with plugs? If not where's the best place to drill? The hose will be run along the floor onto the trunk.

I am sure it's been done, I remember a pictorial on somebody here that did it.
I know under the battery there are plenty of areas to take a hose. that's how I wired in my dc/ac converter. I wanted to do something similar for heated WVO, but I am not sure I will be running it anyway... post results here ok? John

I ran my heater hoses out of the engine bay, under the car along the fuel lines, then up through the shock inspection hole under the rear seat and through a existing hole into the trunk.
My 2 tank SVO conversion

It was a bit of a challange but on my 190D I ran one HIH through the battery pan, to feed directly into the floor chase on the passenger side and one through the firewall adjacent to (inboard) the brake booster, under the dash pan into the floor chase on the drivers side. Both run through the floor chases, under the backseat and through the trunkwall, beside the fuel tank. Should be a piece of cake on your 300D.
End result is a clean install, completely protected lines AND an MB with "in-floor" radiant heat! Jim
