The wonderful world of the Euro Mercedeses
Occasionally I frequent other MB forums (fora?) from around the world and one recurrent detail that always impressed me about european forums was the incredible amount of options and accesories that european versions had.
In fact half the discussions un those forums are what options and accesories were available in what car or chassis... One example this very interesting specimen in a german website. From what I could gather it is a Swedish version, with heating seats;) and headlight wipers and defrost!!!! http://www.mirbach.de/main.asp?main=auto_detail&ID=2785&subnav=1 Is there even a comprehensive list of options and accesories?? |
What odd looking headlight covers. Are those factory defrost covers, or add on?
It is missing an important option: AC.... |
I want the wipers

AH! It's gas! Take it away, take it away, it burns my eyes!!!!!!

OK, on the engine pic, on the left of the air cleaner {as looking at it} is the intake snorkel. What is that duct work coming off the right side? |
Euro
The car has very few miles for an '82 ---

Anybody know where you can get those floor mats?
Kevin 1979 240D manual 1984 190D manual |
What I found to be kinda odd.....
The header of that article says W123 Limousine ......there isn't any more room in the rear seating area than my old 240D or my 300D......probably way more than a Saab tho......
And if anyone does find a source of those floor mats, I want some in Palomino........:D |
I believe euro models go with different nomenclatures:
Sedan = Limousine = Berline Coupé = Coupé Wagon = Touring (Tourer) = Break Limousine = Pullman = Taxi = Saloon (I've seen that name for sedans as well) |
That Mirbach site is a wonder. If I ever have an oversupply of cash I think I'll go there one day and take my pick. I think it should be a sticky on this forum.
That 200 is almost identical to the cars my Brother and I owned before we left South Africa. Mine was a stick, his was auto. But we didn't have the headlight wipers or defrost type stuff. Those heavy duty rubber floor mats were available in SA as well but unfortunately they don't appear to be available in the USA. At least I've never seen a Mercedes with them here yet. Pity as they are the best floormats you can get for a Mercedes without custom designing something yourself. There's a couple of other interesting cars in their linup now as well. Including a bare bones 280C with no ac, no electric gizmos and a stick shift. - Peter. |
ever seen a triangle like that in euro? I thought they all had the white center?
and yeah, I want the floormats. John |
