The 280CE is a hot car, a member on this site scored an AMG version a few months ago.

Cervan and Rashakor, you are making a common error -- the 240D was made through '85, just like the rest of the 123s. I am driving an '84, and I have seen posters on this forum with at least one other '84 and one '85.

They were only imported to the US through '83 for some odd reason -- maybe sales fell off.

All the parts lists in the US only go to '83 on the 240, so I have to remember that when ordering or buying parts.
