W126 300SD cooling fan removal

How hard is to remove the regular cooling fan on a 1981-85 W126 diesel,5cyl.(mine is cracked, missing 2 blades),seems like you dont need to remove the radiator, looks like enough space there. It looks like 6-8 small bolts holding the thing. How tight is it bolted?,regular tools will do?

remove the four bolts holding the fan clutch to the water pump / pulley with a good quality 10mm wrench. You can leave the bottom bolt half way in. Then you will need to remove the fan blade from the clutch. It is easy. replace with the plastic fan blade. Good Luck!

10MM wrench

You MAY need to shave down the 10MM wrench to get it to fit(I used a hand
file and patience.) laterally.
