That they do! I parked a car a few years ago while seeking a replacement motor. The car sat for four months. When I finally found a motor, and pulled out my car to begin removing the old motor, I discovered mold growing in various spots throughout the interior, and moss had taken root in every exterior crevice. Mind you, the car was spotlessly clean when I parked it!

As for sunglasses, I don't think it has anything to do with the the residents buying a new pair each time the sun comes out. I wear sunglasses nearly every day here. Even when it's overcast, there's a ton of glare out there from the angle that the sunlight strikes the atmosphere.

Yes, the climate and road conditions have been kind to the old cars of the Northwest. My Merc has no serious issues with rust at all, unless you count a tiny hole in the firewall beneath the battery, and that's from leaking acid. I see a few W123's every day when I leave the apartment and hit the interstate to go to school in Tacoma. (Can you see why I bought a diesel?) The cars generally look very nice for their age. Mine is probably the rattiest one in the area, thanks to the pealing clearcoat, and rather horrendous attempts at spot painting damaged basecoat areas by a PO with what would appear to be the cheapest spray paint they could find.

Abe rules. That guy is a living mechanics manual for every benz ever produced. I go to him with problems, he diagnoses, takes a few second to think, and then tells me what I need to fix the problem and EXACTLY how to fix it. photographic memory, I swear. Morris Ravelli (of Ravelli Motors) is just up the street from Abe and Aurora Auto Wrecking and is great too...

I'm taking notes on this, since I am a noob to both Mercs and Seattle.

Indeed he does. I have taken both my 240D and SDL there more than once and the guy ALWAYS knows what's wrong, how to fix it easily, and cheaply. He's really honest because a lot of people have no clue what they're doing and instead of trying to rip them off like a lot of other places (dealer included) he's really straigh forward.

Thats because their is not salt on the roads. I am seeing a few more W126's now that the weather is nicer, they come out of storage.

Nice W123's are pretty rare, most are beat.
