Proper diameter and material for KKK turbo wastegate hose?
I've been doing alot of work on my euro 84 300TD, and among other things I removed the aging oil soaked hose from the KKK turbo. I ordered a replacement hose, but the one I received is 9mm (?) ID silicon. I guess this is the right hose for an AR turbo, but its way too big for the KKK.
The hose I removed appears to be fuel line (~ 4.5mm ID, cloth wrapped). Anyone know what the proper hose is for this application. |

1/4" is very close.

Thanks Lance.
I bought a 1/4" piece of fuel line, but didn't like how it fit (kind of loose). I went to another shop and bought 4 different kinds of hose (all 1/4" or less), and found one that fits better (also fuel line). |

Its also 1/4", its just from a different manufacturer and it fits more snugly than the first 1/4" fuel line that I bought.

When I replaced the waste gate hose on my car over the winter I brought it to the dealer and we ordered what seemed like the right one. Well it came in and it was not only the wrong hose, but $20. The guy in charge of the parts department wasn't their when I ordered it, but he was when I was going to pick it up. He was like whats up with this crap, $20 for that thing? Went in the back room, came out with some nice thick walled fuel line, and two new hose clamps. I figure if the original hose lasted 20 years my "aftermarket" solution should last 40. The best part was the price, $0!
I think its 1/4, at least on the KKK on the 603 it is.
