you could do something with the year thats not obvious

The Roman numeral for 85 is LXXXV

For us computer geeks in hexadecimal its 0X55. You could get "0X55 D" for 85 D.

If you could get a seven digit plate 85 would be 1010101 in binary.

There's an X in hexadecimal?

sure, it's heXadecimal right?
last I checked a-f were the only letters in a hex code...
perhaps he meant Java??? that is 85 in Java code...
duh... shows I don't use hex much... 0x is a leader for the string of 55 making it 85... I guess java and perle use the same format. he is correct. sortof, actually, 85 in hex is 55 the 0x make it a string for programming

CT limits us to 6 letters, too. Numbers and letters must be separated by a dot and you're only allowed one dot (which is a bummer because I really want P8RIOT because I'm a big Patriots fan). The vintage plates are limited to 5 characters so it'll be even tougher when I get one.

I'm thinking SLOWWW or SLOWW
DEEZLE or DEEZL

When all is said and done I'll probably end up going with my SEEDY*X plate scheme, though.

The interesting thing with CT, probably in other states, is that you can have the same plate number for a passenger car, a combination and a commercial plate. So if the passenger plate you want is gone, you might be able to get in on a combination or commercial plate. Assuming you want to pay the higher fees for it.
