I'm an engineer. The job is mentally and physically tiring. Sometimes u gotta do complex mathematical gymnastics in your head while you are up on top of 100 foot tower.
Much of the time I wish I were a writer...but there are just too many D^&&* good writers out there, plus I am kind of a simple minded uncomplex person

I currently maintain a 150 piece fleet of vans, pickups, Isuzu NPR's, Ford F-450's and GMC 6/7500's.

I would love to become an apprentice mechanic for a locomotive master mechanic and eventually take his place when he retires.

My screen name pretty much tells the tale.

As the officer on an advanced life support fire engine, the job is never predictable. It's a good feeling to be able to help others in a time of need. It's also a rush to be going into a burning structure or to do a high angle rope rescue.

I'd like to have the knowledge to be proficent in other fields such as electrical, helicoptor pilot, and perhaps auto mechanic would be the most useful.

Architect, Construction Manager (building my own designs), Real Estate Developer and Manager (on buildings I own).

We do residential and light commercial architecture. .. with a focus on adaptive reuse of historic buildings.

We also buy unusual residential lots and build houses on speculation when the opportunity arises. We are currently buiding one that is now sold a block east of my house in an old part of Lafayette. As soon as we can get another lot tied up we will begin the process of building another one on a near cliff overlooking the Wabash river. The one we are currently building is on a lot that was platted in 1955 but never built on because it was deemed too steep. We deliver that one on or before July 20, 2007.

Another focus is passive and active solar (using sun spaces) and energy conservation.

dream job? doing what i do but with a more steady supply of good clients and easy credit for my development schemes.

other dream job? designing cars.

I'm an artist. I paint and blow glass. I'm currently looking for a graduate school to get a masters degree. I want to be a college art professor. I also am addicted to thinking about new energy sources and technology. That's what got me into these old mercedes diesels in the first place. I've been running on waste vegetable oil for three years now! I love these old German tanks. I'm a mechanic too. I rebuild old motorcycles and convert diesels to burn waste....
