I'm wallpapering my dining room, please report my smoking car to the emissions authorities.

Off-topic, but I once saw an old Dodge Dart with the slant-6 and it's license plate was "SLOPAR." Classic.

Yes, It's a Diesel not an ill running gasser

how many times people have came up to me and said "Sir your car sounds like its running rough". So I pop the fuel door open and shop them the diesel fuel only sticker and let them smell the cap... tards like the badge on the trunk is not enough

I get a lot of that, but more in the Jeep than the Benz ... I think most people have some idea that MBs made diesels. Even then, the 603, when warm, is a fairly subtle "clatter" and doesn't scream "diesel," so I guess some people just figure it's an awkwardly running gasser. The Jeep is very quite, for a diesel, so a lot of people won't even believe me when I tell them it's one ... but it certainly sounds different from a gasser, especially at throttle. So people think it's too quiet to be a diesel and must be a malfunctioning gasser. They look at me like, "WHAT did that chick do to her Jeep?!!"

Don't sweat him C. He's been "on a roll" lately..........

It is really funny to watch people stop and jerk their head around when walking in front of the car when I start it. The sound really catches them by surprise, and I must admit to sometimes waiting a second or two for them to be in optimal position......:o:o:o

The 5 cyl. wagon certainly has much more of a diesel klatter than the 240, but both will cause wide eyes and a neck snap from time to time......:D

I may be slow, but I'm still in front of you.

Here's another one (and I might get picked on for this):

Mercedes-Benz diesel: See you in a million miles.

Yeah, I KNOW most of them don't get a million miles (well, except the ones being sold on eBay ... I mean those sellers wouldn't lie, right?) ... but it's the spirit of the thing. It's a bumper sticker; a little fantastical charm won't hurt.:P

kbenjamin0106 05-25-2007 12:23 PM

Ok So far the funniest is Chysler... Whoops, but i still dont get it...

And the Best Serious one so far is Mercedes BEnz Diesel:

SEE YOU IN A MILLION MILES

vstech 05-25-2007 12:28 PM

chrysler was bought by MB parent Diamler about 6 years ago for 40BBBBILLLION, and it's worth about 7B now... and they are trying to dump it.
