93 300SD - SRS memory when airbag deploys?

Does a 93 300SD have any blackbox features that store system parameters (VSS, ABS, etc) when an airbag deploys?

What is the process of restoring SRS after an airbag deploys? Install airbag and reset SRS module? Anything to reprogram?

How can I tell if the seatbelt pretensioners fired? Do they fire or is it just a mechanical lock?

Sounds like you will be da' man after you finish re-storing this car.

When my SRS was tripped, it was reset with a 'scanner' (like AST Retreiver). Can't be done any other way.

As far as the seatbelt tensioners having fired, I can't say but you can inspect them to see whether they have. If they have, I believe you need to replace them. . .

The early SRS system on that car has only 1 deployment capability.

MBNA in New Jersey could PRY crash info from that box...only time we saw that happen was if there was a "lawsuit" involved for premature deployment.
