Disconnect CC linkage for non-op unit?

Given that the CC doesn't work (and probably never will since I'm not willing to spend the $ needed), is there any reason NOT to disconnect the mechanical linkage? Or even remove CC actuator?

It seems unlikely that there could be a problem, but you never know.

Car is '85 300d

Nope, no reason not to take it off, but resoldering the joints on the cruise amplifier may fix your problems. It isn't doing any harm just staying on there as is.
