Third/3rd brake light

Third/3rd brake light: I believe the bulb is dead. How do I go by changing it?

Some of the plastics I've dealt with have been pretty brittle and I wouldn't want to break anything else.

I'd start with the owner's manual. Mine tells me how to change all of the bulbs.

Unsrew the srcews on each side. Then is unsnaps. The nuts are glued or epoxied on the inside. One of mine fell off and I had to glue it back in.

I'd love to, but I don't have one.

Odd, we might have different brake lights. For mine, I pulled the whole unit out. Then I removed the back cover to get to the bulb, which just snaps on. Guess what? That back cover broke on me, as I figured, at the point where it snaps on. Ugh. Guess I need to buy a new assembly after all.

One of the first things that I purchased after getting my car was the owner's manual.

That plastic is incredibly brittle after being sunbaked for 25+ years. I broke mine in several places.

... and I left a blue one in a car in the junkyard Saturday, ... after I removed it from the mount, just didn't need it.

Want one sent with the manual Mike?

I was afraid you'd say that.

I'll let you know when I get it. it's about 40miles from me so I hope you're not in a big hurry.

If only it had a good dash.

Well its no big rush, I didn't realize it was so far too. Don't need to go out of your way for it. But thanks for the offer!
