Seafoam.....
Evening folks.....
In some of my marine work I have used a product called SeaFoam. They have an auto transmission version and a fuel/oil version. I have used it in many gas engines (including cars). Has any one used it for purging? BTW I swear by their transmission product. I have used it in a number of cars and it has worked wonders, including power steering. They even give directions right on the can for purging diesel injectors. FLAME AWAY!!!

I've tried it. Seemed like good results.
My W210 had a nasty rattle last year. I didn't have time or energy to work on it, so I took it to a local tech, who ran a 'double purge', then found a bad glow plug. It still wasn't completely settled, and had become worse over the next 6 months. I tried a couple bottles of diesel clean, didn't help. I tried a filter change and sea foam as the pre-fill. It seemed to work fairly well. I think I'll make that my routine. Sea foam seems to be 'on the shelf' at autozone and advance auto, so finding it, isn't a problem. |

WHat does it do for Power steering units?
I have a leak, doubt it would fix that. The PS fluid I use with stop leak helps out a lot, but hasn't gotten it 100% after 6 months. Slowed it a lot, but hasn't fixed it. Might need to redo the seal.

Tried it in my SD, worked similar to Diesel Purge.
