Auto Heat w/sunroof open

ok a few hours ago i was having a/c trouble. I posted my problem and had some response in a matter of minutes. Now a/c works great "low charge/bad switch". Well i was so happy on this beautiful night i opened the sunroof, well i was met with a burning sensation only to find heat comeing into just the drivers footwell and not out of the vent in the floor, that still blew cold and so did the dash. My compainion was so annoyed by my constant fiddling that she forced to close the sunroof. any ideas?

what exactly happened?
you opened the sunroof and heat started dumping on your feet?
did it go away when the sunroof closed?
strange.

Sounds like engine heat.

Sounds like you have an open hole in the firewall that as soon as you provide an air exit path heat comes in from the engine compartment. Check the boot around the steering column and anywhere someone may have run wires through the firewall. If it were heater heat the a/c would be hot as well.
