I am troubleshooting a leaking air conditioning system. Need to know the location of the system expansion valve. I looked under the passenger side panel cover but it was not readily evident, just the blower motor housing. Aslo, I need to remove the right side rear door panel to repair the window lift mechanism. How does the cover under the door handle come off to remove the arm rest mounting screw and door pull? I tried prying with a small screwdriver but did not want to scratch or deform it.

Look above gas and brake pedals for expansion valve.

Agreed on the location of the expansion valve.........should be just above the accelerator pedal.

To remove the plastic cover, get a sheetrock knife and insert the edge of the knife between the plastic cover and the frame and bend the cover inward so the two plastic tabs clear the frame.
