Fuel filter quick disconnect
Has anyone setup a "quick disconnect" for the primary filter? There has got to be a way to pop these in as opposed to pipe clamping them and having fuel run all over the place.
If not I may have to invent something.

A 1/4 drive, & tiny socket makes dealing with hose clamps really fast and much less frustrating when your in a hurry (or anytime).

True, but a quick connect would be even easier and with the closed valves, a lot less of a mess with WVO. I use diesel purge every oil change and this would make the bottle hook up much, much easier. But I have not done this yet because of the cost of the connectors. Still not sure it is worth that!

Quick Disconnect
I once cobbled up a water vapor injection system for a high-compression gas engine (worked, too!) using little brass valves made to be aquarium air bubbler valves. Being brass, heat shouldn't kill them, and they had a little knurled wheel adjustment/shut-off. I think they came in different hose sizes.

They do have a check valve in them. Look to the right at the prices, one price for valved and one price without a valve.

I never find myself loosing all that much fuel when I change mine. Still a neat Idea for someone who wants to keep it super tidy in the engine bay.

I did mine with a nearly empty tank, with the front on ramps and the back wheels on the ground. I took off the clamps and there was a dribble of diesel, then nothing!
Just do it! |

I think the point may have been missed. I myself have changed many filters....3am in Jacksonville, on the side of the road, with WVO covering all of my new steering rubber boots. Sorry, no ramps avalible on the side of I95, other than exit ramps two miles away.
