Degreased Engine - transmission shifts hard
I am the new owner of a 1990 300D 2.5 turbo. Against my friends advice, I decided to degrease the engine to see where diesel was leaking from.
I used the spray on type foam on the cold engine, and covered the alternator. I used the least amount of water possible from the garden hose. After hosing it off, I started the engine and ran it around the neighborhood until it got nice and hot, but I noticed that the transmission is now shifting very hard through all the gears. It almost clunks into the higher gears. Any ideas? Have I fouled something up? |

Thanks for the advice - you were right...
I knocked one loose when I was checking the air filter. All fixed! Thanks again. Nigel |
