'84 300SD sits higher in front...

... than the rear. Is this normal? If not, what is the solution? Springs? Shocks?

Thanks!

Randy

Actually, it may sit higher in the front..........or, you might just be confused by the additional clearance above the front tire.

With the vehicle dead level, there will be a noticeable larger clearance above the front tires. This, apparently, is stock. There are two ways around this:

1) Raise the back end so that the space above both tires is equal. I did this with the '86 SDL and it looks stupid. The same gap above the rear wheels is unacceptable. The vehicle is highly raked under all conditions other than full fuel and a "decent" load in the back seat and/or the trunk.

2) Cut the front spring to lower the front end by about 1".......maybe 1.5". This is my plan for the SD. Hopefully, I'll do it in the next couple of months when I rejuvenate the front end on the SD. It's overdue.
