Wire brush will take her down to metal - less mess and solvents can drip into unwanted areas.

Be sure to use 3M Super trim Adhesive (08090). This is the best adhesive i have found for this job and I have done it a few times. You will need 1 to 1.5 full cans to properly do the job.
