Alda cap

This may sound like a dumb question but here goes. I want to adjust my alda valve a 1/4 turn, but how do you get the cap off without chewing it up Thanks

Unfortunetly you don't. You have to tear it off to get to the adjusting nut. Kind of odd, but thats what you have to do.

When installing shims underneath, are they simply placed between the two where they unscrew from each other, or do they go under a nut closest to the ALDA, or IP? I haven't taken mine off yet, just wondering about the procedure before I dive in.
