Boost psi gauge installation question
I think I could find a place inside the car to mount a boost gauge... at least temporarily, enough to find out if my turbo's even functional or not and at what level. But I'm not very good at this part of things like that: I see where to measure boost at, but I don't see how to get into the car from under the hood? What hole in the firewall do I go through? Make one? I have no clue... stupid question, but I can't help it.
(i don't have a gauge at the moment but am thinking I should get one at some point or another) |

I tapped into my intake manifold and then ran the tubing along the firewall to the driver's side.
Look under your dash for rubber grommets with wires going through them. Peel one back and look for daylight. You should have more than one choice.

I thought it'd be something like that but I mostly wanted to make sure that I didn't have to have the dash out except for the kick panel and so forth... to be honest I think my trim panels and stuff that surround the radio and everything will fall apart if I remove them one more time.
Under the dash is so much fun when you're 6'4" |

Run it through where the vacuum lines come in for the climate control, it'll fit right in

Im 6-2 and never have a problem. Try moving the seat alll the way back and rolling down the back. Then lay on the seat upside down. Takes some getting used to.

That's what I do. That's probably why my seats are falling apart too

I always lay sideways, with my feet sticking out the drivers door, guaranteed back/neck pain every time.. Can;t seem to fit my arm in the right position laying on the seat.

Boost gauge installation
I ran mine from the threaded bung on the intake manifold through the rubber grommet on the left side of the firewall. I removed the kick plate then ran the hose over and down the side of the center area. I cut a hole in the vinyl change /sunglass cup under the ashtray and mounted the gauge there. There was easy access to the ashtray light wires to power the light in the gauge and it fit very well. I used a VDO gauge to match the original ones.
You have to remove the kick plate and pull out the ashtray (two screws) in order to remove the vinyl cup.
