Any brake job advice?

Well here I sit after my finals today waiting for my parts to arrive. I ordered them via FastLane and they are supposed to be here today. My question is does anyone have any advice or pointers when doing a brake job like this. I bought the pads(F & R), rotors(F & R), and parking brake shoes. Along with the misc hardware and what not. It looks to be a pretty straight forward job and since I have already done the front wheel bearings on my car I should be good to go knowledge wise huh?

What do the experts think?

If you have done brakes in the past, they are really pretty straight forward. (You've already done the difficult part on the front.) There are usually some pretty good hints in the DIY section on things that folks have ran into in the past.

Shim the rear pads. If not, you may end up with nails-on-the-chlkboard screeching. Some don't get that noise, but I know I did.

Yeah, I replaced the front calipers a few weeks ago and the wheel bearings were done last Christmas. The parts are here and I'm going to get started after lunch.

Parking brake shoes can be difficult to get to, someone here has used regular every day tools, yet there are specially made stuff. Ask Phil at above button.

Well after about 4 hours I am finished. The hardest part was the parking brake shoes. They took me about 45 minutes for the first and 20 minutes for the second one. I wish I did have the special tools. Thanks you guys for you advice and offer to help out.

What special tools are available? I fiddled with them a little bit a couple of weeks ago and got frustrated with the tools I had in the garage.
