Moonroof
Been trying to get my moonroof working and was able to open it with the emergency crank socket. It closes by itself but does not open on its own. Checked the current at the connection by the motor and I have power on both poles when the swith is opened and closed. Motor makes no attemt to turn when prompted to open. Any ideas?
Also how is the motor removed? Do the cables need to be removed with the motor? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Have a 1984 300SD!!! Last edited by armkb; 06-06-2007 at 10:22 PM. |

The motor is behind the trunk lining near antenna, peel back hard plastic lining. There is a cable. Will it not open, or not close under power? Unclear from your thread.

IF power is showing at BOTH terminals at the same time when you're trying to open or close, then your switch is culprit.... Motor must have 1 power and 1 ground to operate... They alternate back and forth depending on what you're trying to accomplish (open or close).........

It does not open under power. Have to hand crank it open. Closes well under its own power. Didnt think about testing both end terminals at the same time. Sounds logical that if both are hot when switch is in the open position the motor isnt going to move. Will have to check it out tomorrow.
