Exclamation no glowplug light, no start on 83 turbo diesel

I have an 83 turbo diesel (300d), this morning the glowlight did not come on and it wouldn't start. Where do I start? it did start yesterday with out the light coming on, but not this morning. I need the cars running ASAP, so any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you try turning it off and then on again? I have an 83 where the first time I turn it on the glow plug light does not come on. It does the second time and I need to turn it on and off a couple of times to get going. Yes I have Glow plug work to do.... in my spare time... which is non existent these day.

Glow plug light not working is usually an indicator for one or more glow plugs not working. Test with ohmmeter and replace if necessary.

I know this sounds obvious but are you sure the transmission is in Park? Try moving the gear selector into drive and then back into park just incase the safety switch got stuck.

Here's what you do if it's so cold your diesel fuel gels. Smear some on some toast and stay inside until it warms up outside.

Check the strip fuse, it's the simplest item to check.

All of the above. Turn key, wait for click from relay 30 seconds or so. You should get one. May need to do twice.

83 turbo diesel no glowplug lights, won't start

First, thank you to all that replied. I changed the glowplugs and no changed, recycle the shift, no change, checked the strip fuse and found it partially cracked. I then manipulated fuse so that it was touching again and IT STARTED! This also turned out as a great teaching experience for my 7 year old. Thanks again for all your suggestions and a public thank you to my son for his prayers, they worked!
