Deals Gap is an amazing stretch of road. Something like 118 curves over 11 miles.

I rode it many times on motorcycle trips years ago. Scraping footpegs on both sides.

I can't imagine driving it in a diesel mercedes. It would be sort of like running the Kentucky Derby on a Shetland pony.

Around the same time I had a friend who held the 1/4 mile world speed record for a VW beetle. I didn't understand that either.
