What we got for Fathers Day
I know, it's little early, But I fly Sat, Sun, Mon so were celebrating Fathers Day today, Friday.
Got 2 really great gifts from the family. I needed more tool storage. I have a Sears 5 drawer unit and the Harbor Freight brown stack-able unit, but over the years I've collected a lot of tools and the Wood Shop has morphed into a wood/auto shop. I took it upon myself to get the work station from Costco ( sometimes the family does not know what we would REALLY like) See the attached picture. The second item, and the best, was both of my kids (23 and 22) helped me clean up the shop. We also rearrange a lot of the stationary tools (wood working ) so the shop is better organized. So now I have to figure out where all the tools will go. Metric vs. SAE. Wood working vs. Auto. Etc. Of course like everyone here at the Forum I still need another 2 car garage to make it really nice. But that is not going to happen. Were really getting into the "down sizing mode" My daughter just graduated from Texas A&M and should have a job soon. And my son starts with American Airlines as a Finance Analyst Monday. So, what did everyone get for Fathers Day? Dave

Wow Dave, nice chunk of hardware there! If the shop is that clean, it is time for a new project.
My 19 year old son came by this evening with a portion of my Father's Day gift. Good grief, 10-15 years ago I started this thing with him where one of his presents was always a rock. (thank you Charlie Brown) Over the years we try to come up with clever ways to do it, or just find a cool rock. Well, I have officially been one-upped: That is about a buck-thirty five worth of kid sporting a 240lb rock! Now, the crude images are carved into the rock, not drawn on. First thing, we are a Christian family top to bottom, and my son is in college working towards becoming a youth minister, so that is where the cross is from. Me and him have wicked ping pong matches, hooting and hollaring, and generally changing the aroma of the back of the house. Best $150 bucks I have ever spent to this day, because when he has "spare" time, he will come by for a series. Hmmmm, I can't quite make out that symbol on the left....... Funny timing as there was a brand new old car in the driveway today. He got a kick out of that. Happy Father's Day all you dads...... (oldest daughter at barbecue with boyfriend....)
