I talked to one manager at an Autozone about this. She said that if they were priced at 1 cent, she would pull them off of the shelves and send them back.

Help me here.... does that make any business sense? Lets see... bring in a customer where they could buy more things.... or spend money sending them back?

Needless to say I will not be going back to that store!

I found 8 other titles at my local Autozoo for the same deal today. The included get this, Nissan 300ZX, Acura Integra, Ford Probe, Aspire, Escort, Chevy Monte Carlo, Dodge D50, Mazda 626.
Don't bother with the manager, go to a regular clerk.

I hate to hijack a thread... but where would one find the FSM? I always just use the haynes (don't hit me) for simple jobs or come here for the more difficult tasks. I thing an FSM would be a great asset, obviously.

The Haynes Mercedes manual is worth about 1 cent.

I stopped by a Pep Boys today, for no reason at all, they had fram "made in Turkey" Filters. I bought all 3 at the regular $10.99 Price. For me that was a better deal, considering I could not find find any in the past year or so. Autozone had pulled them and reason was some manufacturer recall. so if you have a pep boys near you, go look at the oil filters. the oil filter currently in my car was a 14.99 napa gold item with no bypass filter. Fram made in turkey is superior, in my opinion. Sorry to change the subject

you may want to return them and wait for the quarterly sale they have on the fram filters... usually 2 for 7.00 on all fram filters. just check their ads. or keep your eyes peeled here, when the sale comes up, we usually post the coupon.

Why are some people slamming the Haynes manual? I got it free from the previous owner of my first MB diesel, but I think it's pretty good, such as the valve adjustment procedure. Sure it doesn't have everything, but it has most of the simpler jobs described pretty well. It's definitely better than the "Mercedes Bible" for the W124 cars. That one has very little useful stuff, other than the brief MB history section.

As far as Fram filters are concerned, I don't like them. I had one partially disintegrate in my car. Never had that problem with the German filters like Hengst or Mann.

I don't like Fram filters either ....but.... the Fram oil filter for the 616/617 is probably the best oil filter you can get for these cars. It's the only thing from Fram that I will buy.

That's exactly the one I had trouble with. If you want to continue using Fram filters I'd recommend you inspect them carefully both before and after use, especially after.

I think that's the same guy on the back of my '82 Chevy pickup Haynes manual. I'll have to check when I get home.

Just picked up a manual, still $0.01.
