Its all in good fun. Besides, I'm not living here, really. I'm just existing:D:D or taking a nap:D or eating:D or watching TV:Dwhat else can you do on cloudy day? Living, isn't that what you do when you have light? This is the only town where the street lights never go off..

You know what sums up this place? The following story in the Seattle News last week. Renton Schools started two hours late because the entire bus fleet was immobilized by flat tires. 90 buses or 180 tires. And you know what the prankster did? He LET THE AIR out of them. It was a Senior prank. Only in Seattle and the NW. On the East Coast they would have punctured the tires or worse. There is no graffitti or litter out here and the news never has terrible crime in it.And on every major road, you dont see a mall... Yes this place is Sweet--a

A lot of those things are true though...:cool: In any case, I for one can't stand living here and as soon as I'm done with school I'm leaving and not looking back. However, that said, we do have some excellent schools up here, that's why I'm here for a little longer.

And I hope it keeps people away because there's too many smelly people here anyways!:eek: I'm moving to a more "green" part of the country as well, just not one that is deprived of sunlight. Maybe those nightmares that my house was built on a superfund site are starting to get to me........:grim: Just Kidding!

Carrameow, could you point me in the direction of those NJ junkyards? I'm in Brooklyn and am dying for a few pull-a-parts to check out on the weekends. So far the closest one I've found is in Pennsylvania, which is a bit of a drive.

Also, as a former Portlander, I will say this: You're just about to get to the best time of the year in the NW. Summers there are awesome. When I was growing up, they seemed to make up for the 9 months of rain. But having lived on the east coast for a while now, I don't think I could take the precipitation again. Plus I like having four seasons. But really, summers in the NW get pretty much the best weather of anywhere I've ever lived.

And I don't know about Seattle, but down in Portland there are some pretty decent junkyards if you feel like making the drive.

There are one or two MB only yards in the Seattle area...better than down here.

I'm planning to organize a MB Drive/BBQ towards the end of the Summer...now that you live on the Left coast you can attend. :D The last Get Together in the area had excellent participation, but hopefully it will be even bigger next time!

You might want to consider investing in a Light Box. These things work wonders for people who suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and might "brighten" things up for you a bit.

Carrameow, I used to live there or should I say exist there and hated it! No, there are not a lot of diesel heads out there and I don't care how much biodiesel you burn, the Seattlelite toads will never stop *****ing about everything under the sun and you are stacked on top of each other. Just a bunch of do-gooders who love to pat themselves on the back for being such good liberal humanitarians while they hand everyone else for their good deeds! My advice? MOVE!!!! Or Seattle will suck the life out of you and spit you out and step on you while kicking you to the curb, and you will still piss people off for getting into their way no matter what you do! Trying to live in Seattle is not only depressing, but it's a no win situation too!!!!!!!!!!!!:grim::behead::dizzy2:

Frankly though the weather is pretty awesome from Mid-June through September. Unlike the in the east, in the winter it rarely goes below freezing, there is never any salt on the roads and thus our cars don't rot away like so many of yours. The new SD I bought has zero rust and my w115 is also rust-free. And for those of you who don't like our tree-hugging, latte-sipping ways--DON'T LIVE HERE! :rolleyes: Our slice heaven that is the Pacific Northwest happens to come with grey skies. ;)

Having lived in both Seattle and Portland I have to say that I think Portland has slightly better weather. We have a little less of the drizzle and continuous overcast that Seattle gets bogged down with over the winter. You stopped too soon though. Next time stick the cars on a boat and don't stop until you are in Hawaii. Not a ton of diesels on the road, but you won't care. You will also never find yourself pining for the sun. You might even find that after a few months you will actually think that 65 degress is a bit chilly. There are seasons too: north swell season and south swell season.

Anyway the sun came out yesterday..
 

and I popped from 4th gear into 1st. I even took two hour off ( i have accumulated a lot of hours staying late at work) to go outside and stare at the sun, to make sure I could form an image of what it looks like for future reference. I was so pumped up I went out and rebuilt all four calipers on my SAAB! I went for a hike with my wife, and a three mile run and I also did the lawn and worked on the backyard fence.

They are in Flushing and Queens. They call it the Miracle MIle. Just go ahead and Google it. The place is awesome.
