Let me guess, she got a ticket for following to close, and the cop obviously let you go right..?

That's the way it should be anyways.

My neighbor came home with the hood, Grille, windshield, and roof damaged on his brand new Caddy a few years ago. He was infuriated because he also had a ticket in hand, for following to close, to boot.

A truck in front of him, had a blow-out. The tread of the tire stayed in one piece, and kept rolling. apparently, it rolled over the top of the old man's Caddy, p.o.s.
He said he flagged the trucker down, and called the cops. He said the truck driver was laughing the whole time at him, and he didn't know why.
When the cop arrived, he found out why....I thought the whole thing was all pretty funny, especially when the old guy told me about it, and I sided with the cop, and trucker...The old guy still mentions it, and *****es to me, every time he sees me, even five years later. He thinks that just because I drive a truck, that I'm somehow responsible for the whole thing, or that truckers should be held responsible, for random, freak, uncontrolable events, such as a blow-out, or debris in the road kicking up...

Anybody ever watch "Lost Highway"?

I think Mr. Eddie has the right idea...

Kindly let them pass, then run them off the road, drag them from the car and pistol whip them!

here in Texas we have a habit of easing over to the shoulder to let faster traffic keep flowing. Even the State Troopers and local cops do it with a smile and a wave. But it only really works on 2-lane black-top with some shoulder room.

until I got home and got a phone call from Wake Co. NC sheriff's office wanting my side of the story. She did get my license plate number
(I was in my old pickup). I never even heard from the girl about it (I just saw her sorority license plate on the front of her car.)

Texas drivers rock!!

I used to tour in a band. We drove all over the country. First time we were in Texas, we were leaving Austin headed for Dallas. Crazy two lane road with really wide shoulders. We used to haul ass wherever we went. Came up on a slower driver and while maintaining their speed, they pulled onto the shoulder and waved as we passed.

We just looked at each other, incredulous at what had just happened, when one band member yelled -- "Texas drivers rock."

Regrettably, we never experienced courteous driving like that anywhere but in Texas.

Yup, Rainbow. Thing is she insisted on tailgating me even after it was two lanes and I slowed down a bit.

Do I ever need a tailgaiting device.

I'm in the right lane.......three lanes of bumper to bumper traffic......just moving along at about 5-10 mph in second gear. A gap of no more than 100' opens up......but.....I just continue at the same speed becasue it's going to close in about 15 seconds.

DB in a POS Dodge flashes headlights and sits 2' from rear bumper......he must get that space. Finally gets a few feet in the center lane and passes me......but keeps the POS within 1 foot of the left side of the SDL when he does this......to teach me a lesson, apparently.

I'm sure glad I did not have a handgun. You fellows would be visiting me in jail........

my brother had a woman tailgating him at 65mph on the highway a year or so ago. Brake taps did nothing. After awhile he got sick of it and waved for her to pass him. She wouldent.
So he let off the gas and coasted till she finally did, around 40mph.
She went around him and they both rolled back up to speed.

She slowed down and he could tell she was looking in her mirror....
soon figured out she was reading his plate, as soon after she began
digging around in her car for something she could not find...

So my brother held up his pen for her to see and slowly waved it back and forth...

heh.

Yes. I get that too. Almost everybody around here tails you (following approximately 5 - 7 feet from your bumper at 45 - 50 mph.

I tried pulling over once, but that just resulted in the tailgater slowing down with me. People really need more gray matter. After my failed attempt, I gave up and kept moving.

He didn't follow so closely anymore...What did he think? I was waiting for him to move past while I drew my Smith and Wesson out of the console and unloaded a few rounds?

...Besides, its not as if I would aim for anything else besides the tires.

I believe it boils down to 'civility'...

Certain people have it-most do not and consider themselves more important to their fellow travelers.

Oregonians have it-as a majority, anyway.

I used to pass the long drives up and down I-5 (lots of it only 2 lanes) by wondering how close I could get to the slower driver in the left lane before they did the CIVIL thing (pulled to the right lane).

Only ONCE, in 4 years, did I get on a car's ass close enough to read the plates.

And would you believe it had Commiefornia plates!?

I could.

Some of the rudest people inhabit the once great State.
